In
order to export data from Mortgage Quest, you need to
know the basics of how to create a report in Mortgage
Quest. For information on how to create reports and queries,
please read through the "Using Queries to Find People"
and "Creating and Using Custom Reports" sections
of the Mortgage Quest 2.6 User Manual.
- To
export your data, select File, then Export from the main
menu of Mortgage Quest.
-
The Report Manager screen appears. Select the New button.
-
Select which data set you wish to export (borrowers, contacts,
or both which is card view report). Do not use card view
if you are planning to import to another copy of Mortgage
Quest.
-
The Report Queries screen will appear. With the All Data
query highlighted, select Save As and name it Export Data
(Note: you may create your own query instead if you only
want specific records by using the New button).
-
The Export Data query should now appear on the list, highlight
it, and click Select.
-
The Select Fields screen will appear, double click on
the fields shown in the left so that they appear on the
right in the exact order you want them exported, and only
choose the fields you want to export. Click Ok when you
are satisfied with the field list on the right hand side.
- The "Type of Output" window appears. The default
selection is a comma delimited text file (ascii). Click
Ok. (Note: you may change the output file name, but the
name must start with the letters MQ_. You cannot change
the destination of the export file.)
-
It will prompt you to export the data file, click Yes.
-
After it is done exporting, a file called MQ_TEMP.TXT
is created in your Mortgage Quest root directory (i.e.
C:\MQW25 or C:\MQUESTW).
-
To put the file on a floppy diskette, use File Manager
or Windows Explorer to drag the file from your Mortgage
Quest directory to your floppy disk drive and you are
done.
